COVER Excellence Awards 2023

The Victoria Cohen Eye Cancer Charitable Trust was delighted to be selected as the charity partner for the COVER Excellence Awards 2023 held in London on 3rd November. The charity is hugely grateful for the kind donations received from the protection and health insurance industry.

This generous support will help an aspiring ocular oncologist with the cost of their fellowship. There are not enough ocular oncologists in the world and not all those with the ability have the means to finance their training.

The winner of the Victoria Cohen Scholarship 2024 is Dr. Sayed Mansoor Sediqi from the University Eye Teaching Hospital, Kabul, Afghanistan.

The Victoria Cohen Eye Cancer Charitable Trust is grateful to Jeremy Hunt MP for his support as Patron. Victoria knew Jeremy as a friend and would have welcomed his efforts to raise awareness of the need for more ocular oncologists in the world.

Dr. Vijitha Vempuluru, winner of the first Victoria Cohen Scholarship, now works at the LV Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, India. Here she provides an update on her work in ocular oncology since completing her fellowship at the Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, USA.
